Continuing the Indictment comic, but going outside the text: who ARE these people not named in the indictment? They may be of little consequence to the story, happening to be near the boxes and texting each other about it. They may be in a lot of trouble. Or they may be key witnesses. I’m not sure if I’ll include this in the long run (like a printed comic book), but I wanted to try to keep track of them as I progressed and at least come up with some version of each of them for when they appear in the Indictment and interact with our heroes. I drew the top half of the comic and meant to leave the rest with “unknowns” but draw random robots for, again, when they appear in the future. However, the next day most of them were named in various media outlets like Washington Post and CNN. Some are just employees. Cannon was a lawyer for Trump who knows the client lies constantly; Trump asked him at one point to tell the national records dept. that everything was returned, but Cannon’s spider-sense probably went crazy in that moment and said no. Unlike, say, Evan Cocoran, who I’m guessing did his best to insist to Trump that everything must be returned, Trump must cooperate fully, this was the last legal tightwire to balance on and there was no margin for error in dealing with the Feds. And probably unlike Cannon, he said yes, that’s all the boxes. And then soon after, they found him hoarding more boxes. But, we’ll see that in future strips!
