Happy December! I spent a lot of last week working on the next issue’s cover (Friday’s post) and didn’t get around to drawing much else. Here’s a comic strip I whipped up over the weekend.
I keep forgetting to format the web version so that panels are posted vertically instead of horizontally. Most of you are probably looking at a smaller device that’s not a computer screen. But I’ve also made a lot of strips where the panels aren’t the same size, so it kind of makes less sense to divide them up this way. And then in today’s strip, the 2nd panel is an open border…BUT I need to get in the habit, and when these are reprinted in a comic, the panels will be next to each other horizontally. Okay?
After I drew it, I thought about Blimpy’s size and perspective. How big is Blimpy? Is he actually blimp size? the people and the buildings are tiny…from Blimpy’s point of view? Or does the reader see these and think that Blimpy is huge and just happened to find a large enough cloud? We probably won’t see him again, sorry.
