I went to a Cubs game and the Giants were playing them, Miguel Amaya hit a foul ball which bounced a few times into the 100s section of Wrigley, up some stairs and then backwards toward…me, landing at my feet. Pretty neat!

I’m editing pre-MLB trade deadline. A few surprise moves from some teams, like Morel was traded from the Cubs. I thought he’d be there for a while. No surprises with the White Sox – they are ridiculously bad, on pace to have one of the worst records for baseball (probably not THE worst but it might be close). They dumped a few players and likely will dump more before the deadline (I’m not going to pop back to edit, so if you’re looking here for that kind of news or further commentary, sorry. My Giants are a little mediocre. I enjoyed seeing them in July. There’s a few players I’d hate to see dumped especially after spending some big bucks on equally mediocre outside talent that I can’t imagine they’d build around. And there’s been some impressive rookie debuts by guys like Birdsong and Fitzgerald. I really like the homegrown group but it wouldn’t surprise me if the Giants raised a white flag and THAT’S the part of the team they dispense to continue the rebuild, instead of Chapman, Soler, or Snell. If these names are gone to other teams by the time you read this, I’m not clairvoyant.
