I was crossing a busy street on the way to work, and this bus passed me. It was a suburban charter bus, with ad copy on the side & back: “Allowed to use shoulder.” Like, when it gets on the highway and there’s gridlock, busses are allowed to drive on the shoulder.

This might be the first strip in a while where I came up with something, a robot bus (being driven by another robot!), where the embodiment of the character is the joke. Sometimes those pop out of nowhere and I can envision the robot immediately.

I got to work and wrote down “allowed to use the shoulder in traffic” on a post-it note which I put in my wallet, got home, and saw the note, and drew it. Hopefully the zipatone isn’t distracting.
