NEWS! Today starts a new comic strip series by ME!

Today you meet MAL, of Mal & Dee, a couple of robots! Do they hang out? Have adventures? Tell jokes? Well, if everything goes according to plan:

-3 strips a week every two weeks (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

-1 big Sunday style strip the 3rd week (…on a Monday, likely)

IDEALLY. That’s the plan. If I don’t stick to the plan exactly, apologies in advance. And I do have a plan. Every strip is seemingly self-contained but advances a story. Eventually these will make up a comic book for shows n whatnot.

Does this mean the end of Mort Inkingbot? No. I’ll still be making those here and there. And there will be dopey robots and Princess Robo and baseball bots and movie reviews, the usual. And there’s a chance I might lock up with anxiety and be late with a week’s strip.

I like or don’t like this format, can I provide feedback? PLEASE. If you think it moves too slow, let me know. That’s my biggest worry, that a joke every other day when there’s some kind of story is too long a wait. But I also don’t want to blitz them on here for a day and then you have to wait a full week. I think what I’ll do is have a recap page on Friday so you can re-read the whole thing.

These guys have been inked on a bristol board page on my kitchen wall for since like 2022. Plus pages of doodles of them in a folder as I worked out how they’ll finally look. And then I said “let’s get a move on!” and drew 3 strips on a full comic page…and it got sloppy and I had to draw it over. Oh well.
