HEY, WHERE’S MAL & DEE week 3? Well, I’m working on it! I bit off more than I can chew with it. There’s a certain look for this, that likely won’t be repeated in later strips. It’s not like it’s anything beyond a drawing, I’m not doing 70’s Jack Kirby collage into the strips or any computer rendering. I’m just drawing. Mal & Dee has been a lot of false starts followed by sloppy attempts that needed to be started over, and also I’m easily distracted and lazy. But I’m HALFWAY with this strip and then I gotta scan and edit it. In the meantime, there’s two Mort Inkingbot strips this week! A couple quickies.

George Lowe, the voice of Space Ghost in Space Ghost Coast to Coast, passed away last week. This is pretty sad news. He was only 67! SGC2C was pretty influential on me in the 90’s. I love how he made Space Ghost into a dumb pompous jerk, with the occasional realization how bad SG’s situation was as a low rent talk show host. And that’s if they bothered with a story, as the show got weirder and weirder as it went on. Much of it was ad-libbed grumbling in the studio that they left in. I’ve listened to some interviews with Lowe that he had given in late 10’s & early 20’s and he seemed like a thoughtful nice guy, as well as an educated art lover (and artist).
