Whew! Sorry this took so long. Mal walks into the cleaning and….is that PEOPLE? HUMANS?

Find out…when I start working on page 12! I might have some Mort comics, or even political comics, coming up. Because hoo boy does the world suck right now. Some guy in Minnesota started hunting down and killing/injuring elected officials AND IT’S NOT THE CRAZIEST THING IN THE NEWS, though it should be up there. Also WAR. These are heavy things.

I wanted to take a long drive this weekend because I had a day off to use, but I ended up staying home to do some adulting, like organizing the closets in my apartment. I have boxes I use for attending shows in one closet and the things i use for displays in another. ALSO I have things that people gave me that I’ve never used, like an Xbox 360 and a lot of games. I was given permission to give it away, but I reached out to the previous owner (like, a year later!) to double check, because I have no idea if there’s personal information on there for downloaded games & online stuff. He agreed he should have it back, but at least it will be out of here. I also picked up an 11×17 flatbed scanner at a garage sale a couple years ago, which worked once BUT the interface is from the 00’s and it’s awful and also it slows down the computer because it’s not Windows 7 or whatever. I put it out to the art group with the caveat of how slow it is, and I have a taker for it. One less thing! Not to mention stacks of books and some other media. I am trying to not look like a hoarder. I am kind of a hoarder.

I did throw out a bunch of stuff too. Lots of cables to things that maybe I need one of, MAYBE, because of how many connectors have been rendered obsolete in the last couple years. Projects to make things out of discarded things that, in the end, will just be discarded because I don’t get around to it. And, you know, GARBAGE. My place looks likely cleaner but someone visiting the first time wouldn’t know it.

This previous weekend was also ridiculously hot in Chicago. I burn up in the sun pretty quickly so I haven’t stepped outside to really enjoy the long weekend. This includes THE NEW KAYAK I BOUGHT. I don’t want to drag it out to the lake and burn up out on the water. Embarrassing!
