Strip drawn in a park on a hot day in Brooklyn

I drew this in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn. It was a hot weekend in New York. It was hot everywhere. But I was in NY and I wanted to draw something BUT it was hot and cafes with air conditioners are small and have no bathrooms. So I found Fort Greene (featured in an episode of the hilarious Bored To Death) and sat there for a bit and belted this strip out on a park bench in the shade. I had no ruler and I sweated all over it while drawing. Then I crossed the Brooklyn Bridge and it was magnificent.

That’s Gears at Smooch down the street. GREAT COFFEE.
