I used to be a huge baseball card collector. I stopped at some point. Shortly after, packs of cards would have chase cards like autographs and then game used bits like someone’s jersey. I learned about this something like 20+ years ago, and had this image of a player suiting up for a game and finding a bunch of holes cut out of his jersey. I buy a few packs of cards a year just to see what they look like, and give most of the cards away to friends who collect or have kids who are interested. I’ve still not seen a “relic” card. I was watching some youtube vid of a guy unpacking cards from back in my day and also opened up a grab bag with a relic card and that prompted me to draw this gag I came up with 20 years or so ago. If someone else came up with the same thing, sorry.
