Mal & Dee 39-3: all aboard the ghost train! (& recap)

md 39-3

Uh oh! Another ‘blackout’ end to a week’s worth of strips (or page)! There’s a LOT of this in issue two, you’ll notice! …when issue 2 is finished. Which, not to give too much away, but I’m trying to figure out what page to end the issue on, which will affect how many more strips I do between now and then. I have THAT page figured out, and mostly how it gets there, but it either has to be 5 pages, 7 pages, or 9 pages from now. I’m leaning 5 pages just so I don’t drag this out and keep you away from Dee. WHERE’S DEE? Isn’t this comic called MAL & DEE, and not MAL & DEXTOR? Well Dee is two pages away. I want to emphasize some danger that Mal is in, but…he’s already dealing with a GHOST of his NEW FRIEND, who now wants MAL to be dead TOO! Isn’t that danger enough? And if I end it on five more pages, I will meet the 2 weeks of 3 strips each and then a solo splash page. For instance, 40 would be 3 strips (actually, it might be FOUR), 41 a full pager, and then 42 & 43 three strips each, and then 44 a full pager, and that’s how the issue gets printed. If I add pages, it needs to end of page 46 or 48, for print. (and if it’s at 46 pages, I’d come up with two pages of stuff – maybe samples of Mort Inkingbot comics or something else. I like extras in a comic book, don’t you?)

Okay, there was no reason to type all that. Just a heads up that we’re coming up to something big. (though, a character finding peace in the afterlife, and Mal witnessing the afterlife…isn’t that BIG? Won’t that keep you up at night, eternity?) Here’s this week’s strips:
