Mal refers to “a tentacle monster” which may or may not refer to the sea Monster from earlier in this adventure, the one that Garytron summoned. OR in issue 1 you might see a couple tentacles coming out of manholes, and in one panel Mal was pulling someone away from a tentacle in that situation. Just something the robots of the city have to deal with. If that’s the case, these have nothing to do with the sea monster, but whatever – it’s not going to come up again.
Yesterday I wrote about the fixed width markers I use, as I haven’t found the perfect replacement for a Prismacolor pen I had been using for years, which are no longer sold individually (I’m not buying a 5-pack of varying sizes to use 2 of the pens). One I picked up was Sakura’s MicroPerm, and these seemed pretty nice. Except they are surprisingly spotty. So I used one in panel 2 here for the lettering. Every straight line in these letters, like an I or H, would have a rounded edge, like I was trying to do massive cursive handwriting but I changed my mind at the last minute. I think it’s where I leave off, the ink just coagulates as I stop and leaves a rounded mark at the end. So, I’ll use these sparingly if at all.
Anyway, here’s a recap of this week’s strips. I should be able to finish next week’s before the weekend but if not I will have at least 1 Mort Inkinbot strip to throw in there.
