If I didn’t mention this earlier, one of my preferred pens is no longer offered. So I have been working with a couple different pens that, honestly, aren’t all consistent…for me. The ones that run smooth also leave a little bump that I always have to remove digitally. Others run rough, both in pace and in line (like a literal spotty line), and they do the opposite – leave a concave indentation at the end of the line and then I have to fill that in without creating a bigger mess.

Pigma Microns are the standard for fixed width markers (what I call pens, sorry) but they HURT MY HAND LIKE HECK and also I am fighting to leave it on the paper without tearing it up. (I used to tear up regular printer paper with them – I’ve since switched to 80lb drawing paper.) But when you scan and want to remove blue pencil lines in the art program, they won’t be eaten up by the magic wand or background eraser function. I use the Microns for lettering. I use everything else for the figures. I use a Zebra brush pen for the word balloons.

Okay, who cares. See you tomorrow!
